the IC has to be cocked just abit to allow room for the trans lines that run over it for my stock cooler. last thing i want is a hole in one of those lol. yes please, on the coupler it should work out nicely.

when it made the funny noise it felt like i let off the gas. it didn't do it that i remember at wot. just at part throttle. i wouldn't think it would be valve float. what does that sound like? parish said maybe compressor surge or the bov. i don't think the turbo it too big. and the bov sounds like woowoowoowoo with a bit of wooossshhhh in there to.

sooo. what would make a ggrrrr sound and cause loss of power. not saying its not either of the two. i didn't feel it today.

is there a chance that at 40% throttle and 7-10psi that the turbo kinda "thinks" its too big. causeing compressor surge? cause thats about when it happened.

but i tell you what.......at 40% throttle the thing goes through gears fast. its funny too cause you can bearly feel it. you could just feel a small kinda bump every couple of seconds. the tach almost stayed in one spot as the speedo climbed.

A turbine compressor requires a certain minimum mass of air flow to support a specific pressure ratio. I'm betting that T04R doesnt have MWE slots in the compressor. I get the same boost flutter at 1300-1500rpms and 35psi.

It sounds like your truck is doing the same thing that mine is doing. Mine is definetly the BOV. I tried a different adjustable one and cranking the spring helped but never fixed it. Once mine cracks once it keeps going whoosh whoosh whoosh till i let off, can barely hear it sometimes but it gets more intense with more throttle. It always happens at part throttle, when the boost is just starting. I added a second BOV and it helped more again but it is still there. They are small cheap valves though - what type are you using?

Thats the low rpm boost, by 3200rpm I'm at 42psi. lol Its a Cummins. Bone stock its safe to @50psi, with ARP head studs only its safe to just over 80psi. With o-ringed head 130psi.

Its just a little project truck that I hope to get into the 11's while getting 25mpg. Right now I can break 27mpg. hehehe

first off wtf are MWE slots??

i might could tighten the bov being that it is as lose as it can get. i loosened it because the little vacuum gun wouldn't open it.

Map
Width
Enhancement
Slots
They are slots at the leading edge of the impeller that allow the extra air to reserculate instead of surge. I'm full of all kinds of usless info. lol

As long as the BOV isnt opening at 20-22in vacume it should be good. You want it to hold shut tight with the engine vacume to where you need like 2-3psi to help force it open.
