I read fast at times
With being a new motor
Heres what i did with cociane.
Filled up with proper amount of VR1 20w50 minus 1 qt...that 1 qt i used lucas break in additive.
Let me motor heat cycle several times with a total of 2hours of run time before going in drive.
I drained oil and cut open filter...this told me if motor was junk or good to go
Dueing the heat cycles i did rev it
And i used 20w50 based on my motors tolerances
Now cocaine has fresh filter and vr1 but no lucas...ill put 50-100 miles on this and change it again
After that ill cut filter open again then proceed..if all is good same oil and rhen 1000 miles and same routine...at this point motor is proper and time for HELL

Thanks guys, this isn't actually a new motor... just a cam, timing chain, oil pump, and milled heads, valve job, and springs. Oh and a trunion kit. Just the basics. I'll heed the advice on the heavier oil and light spring. Yes the truck is going to someone who knows what they're doing tuning wise (definitely not me).
