Yes sir, you found the top of the 4.3, lol. Without a cam, 4.3 wont make power very high. My dyno starts falling around 4800.

Same was for my truck when i had the 4.3, i was shifting it at 4500 when i ran the fastest pass in it.

is that when you had it programed to shift or the actual shift rpm? it is programed at 5000rpm but shifting at 5300.

My truck is commanded to shift at 5200 but the built trans shifts at 5000.

that 4.3l i did had a 224/224 and it was done right at 6,000.

got to remember fellas that boost tends to keep making power a little bit longer.... on my truck, an import but still, i used to fall off power at 5k before boost, now with boost it is still climbing at 6300 where i shift now.

thanks Tom at C&S. he got this thing dialed in quickly.

got some numbers and some video, video will have to wait till tomorrow. numbers seem great to me.

the truck was baselined at 180rwhp. not sure of the tq. we lost the baseline runs. mustang dyno, unlocked, 3rd gear.

i have 3 sets of numbers

unlocked tuned to 22deg timing and 8.5psi max, mid 11's a/f. 304rwhp/379rwtq
then locked and tuned to the same numbers as above 315rwhp/434rwtq

last numbers are from an early attempt to run a higher spring. only made one run since it was clear we were going to be very close to running out of fuel. injectors were at 100%. a/f in the high 10's, timing around 18deg, boost at 11.5psi. 334rwhp/400rwtq unlocked. based on what we were seeing pulling fuel and adding timing at the lower boost level i would say there is an easy 15hp on top of that once tuned but we didn't want to have it on the edge of being out of fuel.

seems like great numbers for only 8.5psi, this seems like a very safe setting. there is a ton more in it when/if the owner wants more down the road. a cam would do wonders. right now just some injectors and we could turn it up to 350rwhp. put a cam in there or some race gas and lots more boost and 400+rwhp seems likely. turbo is conservatively rated at 585fwhp.

here is a chart showing the 8.5psi unlocked vs locked.

just for reference stock ls1's show around 280rwhp on this dyno. tom told me stock mustang gt's are in the 225rwhp range. stock g8 gt is around 280rwhp.

I'l bet the stock Ls1 and gt are down alot more than that on tq. I wonder when the trans is gunna blow?
