Yah my mistake on the MPG, not to start a pissing match with ya on the mph it will go, but not 55 with 220 hp srry. Tech it should be knots which is about 1.2 mph for 1 knot.. The bridge thing isn't a legit way to declare the speed..And the water pickup speedo is garbage. I would look into a nice exhaust setup for it from eddie marine, a new intake manifold. With it being a 96 it is still a carbed motor correct.. Thats where I would start.. You going to spend just as much on a turbo or blower set up as you will build a nice healthy small block for it... Also a alpha will hold hp in a lighter boat, I am putting 400+hp through one in my 202 stinger, just have to be smart and don't pull hole shots..

I wouldn't put more then 300hp in front of the alpha. For $2200.00 I can sell you a 350/270hp freshened long block right now.

Hellbent is right. 300 HP is the most suggested for an Alpha.

Unless you are running a cat, twin 520ci blown big blocks, and surface piercing drives you are a *****.

LMAO yah the freaking drives cost more then 2 of them boats combined.. 6's are bad bitches.... Arnesons are just indestructale Back on the topic of the alpha, you can run more then 300 through them with out problem IN A LIGHT BOAT.. Look at all the older performance boats(28 ft range) that came with twin BBC and alphas. Same with the bravos, I know a dozen guys putting 700 hp to them, including us when we finish our build.. Its all about driving the boat, having common sense... If you wanted to upgrade drives with out have to redo inner plates try to find a SS alpha drive(good luck) they were rated for more hp over the stock alpha, had bigger internals, shaft... Give MEL RIGGS a call...

AND FOR THE GUYS WHO WANT FAST GET OUT YOUR CHECK BOOKS
