I would keep your compression up higher than mid 8s. An 8.5:1 5.3 would be terrible out of boost, they are slow enough stock. lol

With 4 people in the LQ9 GTO we got 24-25lbs(cant remember) on the highway one time. Dave runs that at around 17 on the street and 23 at the track. It does a good job of destroying t56s.

SilveradoL33s truck ran 12-14 all the time on pump 93 and 19 on race gas. The new owner is switching to e85 to run 19 all the time.
