"Turbo" Cam
a cam that is aimed towards FI vehicles has a larger intake duration then the exhaust correct??
What part of my engine should i size my cam from??? converter? turbo?
the one I'm looking at is a custom grind with about 575 lift, and 244 int/224 ext @.050
personally i think its alot for a V6, but I'm no cam expert. The most common cam for the V6's is a 212 int/ 215 ext.
any ideas??

What kind of heads are you going with? 244 @.050 is huge for a 4.3L. I have a Ty and I've checked out the cams for them and I must say, compared to LSx's cams they have freakin' lazy *** lobes. That's mainly due to the heavy valvetrain and low flow number heads associated with those engines. If you use vortec heads, and light valvetrain, then I don't see 224-ish being out of the question while being able to maximize the .575 lift.
What LSA was that cam? You basically want as little overlap as possible, which is something I have yet to see in off the shelf SyTy cams.

its a TurboTime cam, not too much info on the site, so i'm gonna call Eric today and ask about it.
it's probably and all-out race cam. cause the powerband is 1900-6500rpms.
anywho, i have ported/polished L35's, with stock sized valves, and 1.6 roller rockers.

asked Eric today and he assured me that the "off the shelf" 4.3 cams from Comp Cams are designed for NA motors (the 412, 415, and 422 cams).
he has a nice street/strip turbo cam (Comp custom grind) with 218/218 and about a 530ish lift.
I'm leaning more towards that.

I'm with vanilla... I've seen a lot of "turbo cams" that when you look at the valve events are horrible for a turbo. The cam isn't as crucial in a turbo application (heh, what is?) as it is in an NA or blower app. Once you get to the "all out" category, then finding the right cam is more important.
244/224 is huge for a 4.3 I'd think That's more intake duration than I run (or Parish either for that matter)
