Default turbo cam grind

I have been searching all over this forum and others with out much help, seems all the research i do on this cam is a 5.3 but in a camaro or vette or some other cars.

what do you turbo guys think of this cam
Cam specs are 222/226 .602/.571 113+3 and comes a 3 bolt timing gear pattern.

Turbo Charged Stage I Camshaft - Brian Tooley Racing

It is the brian tooley racing turbo stage 1.It was the cam a reputable engine builder and good friend reccomended i used and wants to see your guys opinions. This would be going in my rcsb turbo silverado, truck will be daily driven. I do want some thump to it and good drivability. Any input is appreciated.

Seems a little on the big side for a daily driver to me.

With a 5.3 and turbo for a DD, I suggest specing the cam as you would without having the turbo. Basically, I would suggest something in the mild, low-mid range torquey kind of cam. That way you dont sacrifice low speed driveability and just let the turbo do its work in the mid-top end range.

There's nothing big about that cam. I could tune it so you'd think it was stock except for the idle sound and better power...I'd actually say that cam is kinda small, even in a 5.3...should make for a great daily driver setup.

I have a 214-218 .560 116*1 It does well for a dd. It doesn't take a big cam to go fast.

So my main goal is to have a good thump, good drivability, make 5-600 hp. I do not care about mpg and it will be getting a 4l80e with a converter, the tick cams seemed a little small BTR recommended the stage 1 for my goals said that the have made 1000 hp on a turbo 5.3 with it

The cam you suggested would be a good option for your goals if paired with a proper torque converter. Stall speed will be very important. Personally I would go a tad more mild. I think that cam is more for a turbo LS car than a truck. I tend to err on the more mild side.

^^^Cams very dependent on stall speed and rear end gear. Figuring out what stall your going to run first and then choosing a cam would be wiser.

I think I am shooting for between a 3000-3400 stall in a 4l80e with the 4.10 gears I already have

That high a stall is going to make the cam seem even smaller...I don't think you have anything to worry about.
