Default TURBO On a DOD Engine???

I was just wondering how strong are the stock DOD lifters if used with a Turbo Kit on a daily use? Are they capable of withstanding 650hp at the crank? Anyone making close to that with a DOD engine and put some good miles on it after the power adder?

They can take power pretty good, the problem is the DOD system is notorious for gumming up the oil rings on the pistons and causing lubrication and oil burning problems. Mine hardly ever goes into 4 cylinder mode anyway. Ill be yanking the heads in favor of an "old school" valvetrain along with a slightly larger bumpstick.

RPM is what kills those lifters. I'd say you can run as much boost as your stock springs can handle. I wouldn't turn the shift points up with DOD lifters and a turbo. Transient fueling might get a little funky if you are in boost on a 4>8 cylinder transition, but it should be doable.

My 6L80e swap and Turbo install are both getting done at the same time. Its all going to happen by the end of June. I'm not looking to go higher then 5700-6000 rpm max. Also looking to keep the engine's internals 100% stock with the only 1 upgrade being valve springs. (maybe).
