Default Turbo Flutter / BOV Issue

I have a situation that I could use some input and advice on. Recently installed a Trick stage 3 and got the truck running good and tuned well. I am having a problem with the blow off valve. I am running the BOV that comes with the Trick kit which is a Tial style. The spring that came with it hangs open at idle an part throttle. This is not good since I am going to be using the truck offroad every once in awhile. So I bought a Tial 9 psi "white" spring. This spring closes the BOV, but now has a lot of turbo shutter. The previous spring sounded great. This new spring has me worried. Any input?

Consider cutting some off of the spring that keeps it closed....you want just enough spring to keep the valve closed at idle, no more no less.

Most customers run th heavy spring that comes in the kit.
I have a couple that purchased a tial bov spring. That matches the highest vacuum point.

Yes that is the spring I used Rick. It comes with two springs and I used the heavy one, which is the one that is hanging open at idle/part throttle. So I purchased the spring that Tial recommended, which does close the valve. But now I have a ton of flutter.

If I cut the spring, will that stop the spring from being able to close the valve all the way?

Wow the heavy one would open at idle. That is one stiff spring.

i think what atomic is suggesting is a little at a time. i would think it would still close fine. remember if there is no check valve on your signal line then it will see pressure on the diaphram when under boost. or you could put one of those 70's wristbands around it.

You can use valve spring slim to slim the heavy spring. But I think you should pull the valve apart oil the slide first then if it need a slim or two go at it. I have 20lb of vacuum with the heavy spring work great.

If you did this, wouldn't the BOV open when under more vacuum than at idle? Would this let unfiltered air get sucked into the engine through the BOV? Or is the turbo is moving enough air to prevent this???
