im guessing they just did a quick job on it and didnt bother checking piston to wall clearance and probably just set the whole short block up loose.

That would be my guess too, and of course they know better. No matter what we built in the shop when I was comin up, whether it be a DD 350 or a Big Block 8 sec 540 or whatever, all rings were ordered a few thousandths bigger and then each one was file fitted to its own cylinder.

Cant wait to hear what the problem is and what fixes it

i run my driver side to the manifold like stock with a one way valve inline and run the pass side into a fitting i mad preturbo. that way under vacuum it pulls air from crank case and under boost it pulls vacuum from the fitting on the turbo inlet. kinda like the exhuast style vacuum setups only mine is preturbo.

just throwing this out there, my ls6 cam fell off before 6000 rpm also. i had to shift around 5800ish. when i first put it in i set the shift points to 6200. i thought it should surely pull that high. first time out it just fell dead before 6000. even the wife sitting in the passenger seat was like WTF was that, what happened. lmao.

Well just got back from the machine shop and siad pull the motor so they can fix the issue. The issue I have is the down time with the truck. Do go find junk yard motor put in there for now or do just play the waiting game. It sucks when your dd goes down.
