I think what the Tech guys like is a looser stall to get the rpm up enough to build bust, and tall gears to really load it, is the best setup. You need rpm to get enough airflow to spool the turbo. I agree that tight stalls suck, but I think high gears will defiantly complement a loose stall.

the way i read that is a turbo car doesn't need a steep gears. like 4.11's or even steeper. my question here is how would something like 373's compare to a rear highway gear like 308's? even the 4.11's arent really steep for us truck guys with 30+" tall tires. i think 5000lbs of truck is pleanty of load and steeper gears might just get you down the track faster as long as you can hook.

for me it boils down to a turbo works well on about any set up. you can have any gear and it will run well. a wide range of cams and it will work prety good. little or big exhaust and it will work ok.....

It seems kind of like a win-win situation, because a stall will be looser with higher gears. Combine that with being able to build more boost on the line and you'll be able to leave higher in the rpm band.
