We use to use -8. Problems when it gets cold.
-10 works great just make sure it drops as straight as possible.
We use -3, -4, and -6 depending on the turbo.
No need to run larger then needed.

couldn't appreciate it more guys!

the turbos have -8 drain fitting on them, so I plan on stepping them up to -10 right away and running a -10 hose and -10 fittings in the pan.

I've got -10 hose but if I was starting from scratch again I'd do -12. Not that I have any issues with -10 but its extra insurance with no downside.

2010 Silverado 4.8L
I took mine to the timing chain cover.
I had a lot of room at the top of the front cover to make a connection.
Being very careful and using a lot of grease while working slowly I managed a hole in the top of the case that I threaded to 1/2" NPT (once again, using a lot of grease).
I flattened out the flow across the hose since the pics but the end of the outlet nipple is about 2" above the top of the inlet nipple. Got 1500 miles on it with no problems whatsoever.

Stay with the -4 feed. I am actually upgrading my feed to a -6 since the line is 5' long.
Im all for the oil, but I had smoking problems in the past with a new borg warner and a -4 feed. It also had a -12, not 10, drain.
