Definitely a wide range it seems. I went ahead and used M1 10W-30, it was on sale. Depending on how it looks when I change it, I might switch.

I've heard good things about brad penn oil and may try it. Ive always run Mobil 1 but switched to rotella T6 for the turbo truck after my buddy convinced me. Hasn't blown up yet and has about 200miles on it

Valvoline VR1 10-30 oil, might switch to 20-50 on next change. keep filter changed every 500-1000 miles and change oil every 2,000 miles. clean oil is where its at whatever brand you choose.

Bringing this thread back for another question. For you guys running 40 weight or thicker, what is your oil pressure like? With 10W-30, mine idles around 50psi, cruises around 58psi, and redlines at about 80psi. I would like to run a heavier oil with the turbo but am worried about TOO much oil pressure. Also hoping to quiet the valvetrain down after my cam swap.

I'm not turbo yet but I'm running 20w-50 VR1 and my pressure is about 55# @ 800, 65# @ 2800 and hits 80# at 4400 and holds. 20w-50 runs FAR quieter than any of the 10w stuff.

Do you know what your oil pressure was with a 30 weight oil? I may try Rotella T6 5W-40 this round, but I'm not too comfortable with thinner oil when cold, especially if I'm trying to reduce valvetrain noise, which is loudest when cold.
