Default turbo question

i have a question, im not very educated on turbos and forced induction. i have a friend who might be getting a 2002 ford powerstroke for free, cuz its wrecked. he will probubly be just taking the tranny and maybe the interior for himself, but i want to eventually turbo my truck. i was wondering if its possible to use the turbo off that truck and put it on mine, i kno its to big, but wut would i need to do in order for it to work... for me im kinda doing "project shallow pockets".

any help and input would be most appreciated.

Here's my 2 cents...I'd take everything you could from that truck and sell it, then use what you get from it and buy yourself a turbo that will work better than that turbo for your engine.

its will work but its not the best turbo for your truck. the vband for the turbo (im guessing gtp38) is hard to find. it also has a strange pedistal setup. you can make it work but id just get an easier turbo to work with.. +1 for the post above

unless you can do all the fabrication yourself i wouldn't even try it, the price to do a turbo setup will spiral out of control extrememly fast. My advice is to save your money and by a prefabricated kit when you can afford it.

Ebay man... sell every part you can. and then maybe you will have enough money to buy a turbo and all the parts, or just a kit?
