What engine are you planning to turbo?
Could drop a 4.8 and a 4l80E in the s10 with a 70mm turbo and ride.
Im putting a 5.3/4l80e/76mm in my s10 for a play truck. The possibilities are endless. So gotta figure out a power goal or something and plan from there.

Thinking a 5.3 based motor. Ir something with some larger cubes like a 408 but budget wise a 408 is probably out of reach. Id like a good dd at 600hp+

That will end up being pretty radical on a 5.3. You would be better off shooting for around 500-550 with a 5.3 if you care about reliability. What is your budget? I will tell you that with your power goals, if you want to stay on a budget you need to go with a 4.8 over the 5.3 if you want it to live. The other option would be to punch out a 6l to a 370 with forged pistons and rods. You could easily attain your goal reliably with a build of that type.

Slowest turbo build ever!

Keeping in mind your wanting to do this in an s-10 AND DD it, 600+ is NOT going to be DD friendly in a s-10. Traction will be a huge issue. To keep cost down I would look into building a 6.0 with a good street cam and you will probably be MORE than happy with that. A 408, let alone with boost attatched, is going to be a tire eater in a s-10 lol.

I vote for a stock 4.8 and a decent turbo. Traction is gonna be an issue no matter what so no point in goin all out. A 4.8 can get you in the 10s in an S10 traction permitting.
Might wanna do something bout the lil 7.5" rear end tho. Pretty sure its gonna be hating life and end up in a few parts.
