Can you build boost at the line? How much is it slipping up top?

If the answers are "yes" and "less than 10%", then you are fine with what you have.

You want it richer to spool it on the 2step, not leaner. Also try pulling the timing back down there. Better brakes might be good as well...

If you're "pushing" the tires, then you don't have a converter problem... You have a holding ability problem. Think about it, you're making more power then you can hold back. So you want to make a LESS efficient converter so you have less power getting to the ground? I'd get better braking before loosing up the stall.

BTW, ANYBODY touches that Yank of other then Dave and he will void the 5 year warranty COMPLETELY! He gets pissed. And he won't sell you parts if it needs any. Ask me how I know...

Lol, had a brand new tranny built for my truck and just wanted a quick cut and flush done on my yank. Had a local place do it and he found the lockup cluch warped. Tried to get a new one from him and he said nope and your warranty is now void! Ended up haveing to send him my converter and paying $275 to have it fixed.

There are 2 ways to go about it....i go lean and timing where others like rich and low timing

3400-3600 for converter and your issues will go away....youll come out harder with more rpm
