Default turbo suburban?

i have a suburban with the 5.7 liter. would it be possible to turbocharge it? and if so would it result in reliability issues with 160K miles on the motor?

It is doable for sure as long as there is tuning support and I believe there is, there are universal kits and custom installs. I would want to freshen up the motor if it were me, but it wouldn't be required if on low boost (5-6lbs).

I would look into the 0411 pcm swap and check out www.pacificp.com for info on turbo applications and other good info for the L31 vortec. With a marine intake manifold swap and a simple turbo setup with tuning it should be fairly reliable at 7-10psi.

You'd probably have more problems out of the tranny before the motor would take a dump.

IMO

If reliability is an issue (don't want a dead truck) err on the conservative side. If not you'll know later what I was talking about. Good luck!
