Default Turbo/wastegate exhaust

So im plannin some stuff for my turbo.*
Goin with a borg warner s400 75comp/83turbine .90AR *T4
3.5" downpipe to the stock catback. With a 3.5" cutout in there where it has room.*
Gonna be runnin a 6# spring and a boost controller for about 12#.*
For the wastegate, instead of runnin it into the down pipe and making all that exhaust go thru the stock catback, im gonna run the waste gate open to the atmosphere and run a small 1.75" or 2" exhaust pipe back to the rear axle *and dump it. That way it should be quiet even in boost.*
But for more boost i can open the cutout and let it breath.

Let the meth start out at roughly 5# so it will have some cooling effect and be able to add timing. Probably ramp it up to 100% at 12# to really help with power.*

Hopefully i can have everything planned out and ready by the time the turbo and hot side get here.*
Im startin out with 8.1 marine injectors so im gonna be limited on boost for a lil while.*

Also think i have an idea how to set up the tune since im OLSD 2 Bar, and the cutout open is gonna make a durastic change in the airflow. So we will see how that goes.

Why do you think routing the wastegate to a dumped straight pipe is going to make it quiet? When you get into boost it will start to open and be just like a dumped, straight pipe exhaust...

Whats durastic? Drastic?

Why not put it through the catback? Just have it tied back in before your cutout, so your cutout will be useful when you open it...

I think he's hoping by running the open wastegate through all that piping it will quiet down and still be free flowing..am I right? I'm still wanting mine ran back into the exhaust..something an exhaust shop could do?

Yea, i wasnt sure if all that exhaust gettin pushed thru the catback is gonna make it over boost. Was hoping the wastegate routing would help keep the boost low for towing.
Ive got a small muffler i can put on the wastegate exhaust haha.

Oh and spelling got me last night. I couldnt figure out how to spell drastic

Guess i can give it a try and see what happens.

Hmf is about the cheapest. There all around 1.5-2" range. Should be just right

I personally think that's nt a great idea at all but I suppose it won't hurt to try. Just get a 4" dmax exhaust with a big muffler and use that, easy, not too expensive and effective.
