Here is another pic of the Ford. They also have a 67 Impala with a procharged 512. The car had a little incident with the wall at a local track and is currently getting a face lift. They weren't able to make a full pass on this setup before hitting the wall but it should also run 8's in the 1/4

Maybe the starter of this thread will chime in, but I think what he going for(and the reason he wants 4wd) is the ultimate sleeper look. He wants an older version of Parish's truck, so that he does not have to tub it and put on huge slicks to run good on the street.

The ford truck and Impala were posted for reference to blown big blocks and blow through carb setups. Also the starter of this thread has a good idea to use 4wd on an old truck. The only downside, IMO, to 4WD Trucks is the amout of power the transfer case and front diff will consume.

I've gotten beaten a couple of times in my Camaro by bikes and it was fun but I'd rather have been out front. I will only use the truck as a daily driver and I want it to be fairly quiet, run smooth and be super fast. At least low 10's at over 140 mph. Thats why I want the turbo'd big block. I figure the truck has the advantage of 4 wheel drive over an older muscle car because I'll be able to use the power with street tires. I'd really like to have 4 good size Nitto drag radials. I know it will probably cost extra to beef up the differentials and tranny and especially the transfer case.

I really need to find a suitable truck to buy that has a descent body and a shop in Southern California that can do this build-up. I've seen 630 cubic inch short blocks on a number of web sites and think that would probably get me loads of power. A lot of power will probably be eaten up by the driveline (4 wheel drive and automatic trans).

I want almost the same thing he has except with a turbo, a little bigger motor and AWD.

I know the driveline will probably eat up lots of power. That's why I plan on going for an over 500 cubic inch big block with a turbocharger. It will still probably spin all 4 tires.
