Default Turbos not spinning at idle??? Help

Just made a rear mounted twin turbo kit ( like sts ) for my brothers jeep srt8 and he bought **** no name no part number turbos from someone. They are t3 t4 58mm journal bearing. They do not spin at all when idling. U have to blip the throttle for themto spin at all. They are brand new. And have oil going through them.

I think this is a problem

Ideas? My 70mm on my trucks spins like a champ and for like 20 seconds after the truck is off.

Its not really an issue...being a rearmount there isnt a lot of heat that makes it back there at idle.

Ok and it has all the stock cats and muffler on it still. The turbos are at the rear bumper

Is it the heat that spins them or the exhaust flow? I though heat made the load and boost. But just for idle I woulda guessed they'd be spinning free

About 80% of the power extracted from the turbine is heat. The other 20% being flow/pressure

You dont have enough exhaust velocity at idle to spin the turbines with the turbos that far back. This is why front mounts respond so much quicker.

Turbines extract heat and velocity from the flow, mostly heat. You're losing a lot of heat once you get to the rear. I have heard of people wrapping their exhaust pipes to hold in more heat. Might be worth a search.

You said you still have mufflers and cats in the system; how many obstructions are there before the turbos?

Stock exhaust but instead of tips out the rear there are two turbos. It's a lot of **** but that's what he wanted.

Thanks for the help guys

Did it build any boost or was it laggy?

If it did not build boost, you might start removing the mufflers and see if boost comes sooner.
