Didn't Duttweiller make 900+ with a 2300?

I'm sure mine is close to 900 at the flywheel with a baby cam @ 20psi. And thats on a 6.0 liter. On a larger cube motor I think you could close in on that 1000fwhp # but you'd need to really spin it up. SuperSub (Ray) make 800whp on a Mustang Dyno while I watched with his 427. He would have to be pretty close to the 1k fwhp mark. I don't have any idea what his boost level was though.

I've got a larger crank pulley and fairly small front pulley with a OD on the rear of the blower to get my boost level up there. I've had 3 cams in it with this blower, from a 240+ duration to a 220 and it didn't affect my boost level by much if any going larger or smaller.

I think most of us are way underestimating the drivetrain losses on these trucks. The figure I see most people use is 18-20%. I'd bet the real number is closer to 30%, which would put Supersub somewhere around 1150 hp if rated by GM.

I agree. My M6 LS3 vette dynoed over 650 rwhp on 8.5psi with TVS, cam, and bolt ons. My truck, with a similar setup (ported LS2 heads and slightly smaller cam + meth) could only muster about 540 rwhp. Even with 2.5 to 3psi more boost. I'm thinking of doing a T56 swap in the truck. 4L80 is a pretty notorious power eater.

It's more than just the 80. I was rereading a GM High Tech article about a 2010 LS3 M6 Camaro. It only put down 281 rwhp on a Mustang dyno. That car is rated by Chevy at 426hp. By my math thats a 35% loss to drivetrain and accessories on a stick shift. When we add an automatic, transfer case, high output alternator, heavier rear end and 20 inch wheels on these trucks the losses are staggering.

I have a picture of that motor somewhere, I remember asking him while it was on the dyno what it was making and it really blew my mind when he spat out those numbers. It was on a LSX 427 I think.

Yeah, I think it made like 920 or something like that. Wasn't it mildly cammed and with fairly mild heads? I didn't think it was a max effort build. Also there is a TBSS on TBSSOwners.com that made 800 something wtq at like 3600rpm having to shut down because the tranny tossed it's cookies. Plus doesn't Leftcoast Joe make an *** load of power with his blower?
