If I can get 2.8 it would be great. I want to buy one. They are available on Ebay, made out of aluminum and some people suggest not to buy these because they fall of or something else is happening to them.

What about gears? I know how to pick gears based on tire size but ratios like 3.73, 4.10 etc. that's first gear right? How does that relate to ones ability to cruise on the highway?

For a roots-type blower (TVS & Radix), the ideal stall is usually 2400-2800, otherwise you will be passing up on the low end torque the blower makes. Who knows, the low end torque the blower makes might be plenty with the 3.42's.

The lower the gear (numerically higher), the more fun it will be zipping around town and lighting the tires up, but the worse your highway mpg will be and the more rpm's you will turn at any given speed. I'm at 2000rpm at 70mph with 3.73's iirc.

I was thinking the same thing (about the stall) but the guy from whom I bought it convinced me that 3200 will be just perfect + for this application may actually stall at closer to 3000. I'll see about the gears thou.

No offense, but I wouldn't listen much to what the salesman tells you is best for you. Do a search for converters in the FI section and read the threads that come up.

He's no salesman, actually a respected member on here . But you definitely bring up a good and valid point. There is another member here with identical setup (he sold the car thou) TVS1900/FLT transmission/3200 stall who was very happy with it. I'm no expert and try to ask others as much as I can before making a decision. Mistakes are costly. Unfortunately, purchase has already been made but if the stall is going to be to high then I'll address the issue.

Understood, no offense intended, just don't want you to spend an afternoon installing something, or paying $$ for someone else to, and have it turn out not how you wanted. Been there before, it sucks.

No one is going to feel the pain of such mistake more than me. Yes, I have been there before, especially with my ProCharger install. I share your opinion on stall speed, by myself would probably pick something lower but this was a good packaged deal and I pulled the trigger. If this is not going to be satisfactory I'll have it re-stalled to a lower speed or sell and get a different one.

Just got my TRT2600 today. I'm gonna wait till my other trans has been rebuilt since it's wintertime now anyways. I had no problem roasting the tires before. Should be good for some 4WD launches.

I think a 2.8 pulley might be a little much to drive around on the street, depending on your combo that will probably get you >10#, so you're tune really needs to be spot on, octane needs to be high and if you live in a hot climate that will just compound the issues. A 3-3.2 pulley seems to work best for street use. Google "RIP 6-rib" for pulleys. Also, if you were set on getting the 2.8 it would be wise to change over to an 8-rib setup, the faster you spin the blower the higher the tendency for belt slip, another reason to stick with a (bit) larger pulley.
