Default twin turbo exhaust discussion

i have a question and i've never really thought about it before. if you run twin turbos and have to route the exhaust (dual) to one side (due to fuel tank) would there be any benefit what so ever for a X pipe or H pipe? i know people use them in N/A cars but, it would seem that the turbo being in the way would negate the need for such pipes.

what do you guys think?

Id imagine with a turbo setup it wouldn't make any performance difference but im sure it would make a difference in sound.

thinking about it in my head makes me feel like it could hurt the system because back pressure could increase because you're forcing the same mass of gas through a single pipe, versus two pipes. It might act as a choke point?? That's pure theory though, hell i actually know nothing about turbos lol. Just food for thought
Just use the K.I.S.S. method, you'll be good

I wouldn't run a x pipe simply because it chokes down but don't see any problems with a h pipe. I really don't know if it would help any performance wise but like said before would prob just make it sound a little different.

yeah i figured with turbos X and H pipe theory is out the window. if i do this i will probably just run straight dual 3" all the way back. sucky part is the driver side will have two extra bends over the passenger side.

x and h pipes work due to the offset timing of air from the exhaust ports. Once the air goes through the turbine it is pretty uniform, so you wont get that same benfit. Anything after the turbine is a restriction in the system, hence why you have 4 and 5" downpipes on gas engines.
