I don't see any advantage to running two small compressors over a single large one. Until a few years ago the 2.3L Lysholm was the largest compressor whipple had for kits. Back then there was no other choice past a certain power level but to run two. Lysholm then came out with a 3.3L unit. Whipple quickly redesigned the big-block hotrod and marine kits to use the larger compressor. With Whipple's own manufacturing they now sell a 5.0L twin screw compressor. With the availability of something that huge there no reason from a cost, packaging or performance standpoint to do dual small ones instead.
