7K for that mileage seems about right, depending on the condition of things. Do you happen to know what year and color it is?

here, ck this out, i just saw the truck the other day and it really looks great!! the fab is done, everything is coated and is being assembled. there should be new pics soon!

They're like a sore dick. You don't mess with it unless you know what you're doing. 
Subsequent problems are usually a result of lack of knowledge.
In the early years there were some BAD chips out there that caused lots problems for people (knock, blown engines) then it snow balled from there. People bought them to go fast too, which naturally led to boost launches from stoplight to stoplight. That tears **** up no matter what it is. Look at the AWD DSM's.
They suffer from the crappy 700R4 too...oh wait so do our trucks.
A stock truck with reliability mods and regular tune ups will last a long time. There are a lot still going at over 200K miles and 1 reported case of close to 350K miles. I think if GM would've marketed it better and didn't price it so damned high they would've been better hot rodding material. There would be more of them around, more parts, more knowledge and a bigger following. Take the Lightning for instance, or the GN's. More of them=better aftermarket. The only reason our trucks are so easily modified is because we share a powertrain with the vette/f-body crowd.
