not sure I follow. I want it made out of 3" mandrel bent pipe. I dont think that an exhaust shop would do what Im wanting. Its quite a bit of work.
Im planning to have an exhaust shop make my Y pipe but thats only 2 45* bends and a collector.
Are they doing the measuring and everything for you? Are they using mandrel bent pipe?

aluminum is harder to weld from what I understand.

try this stuff called alumiweld it sounds like good stuff.

aluminum is a big pain in the *** to weld. I would really get away from the rubber hose, not only does it look like ****, but it also wont last. As far as cutting stainless straight, i would build a jig for your saw/get a chop saw/bandsaw. that makes life a lot easier, and if you put some angle control on the blade you can make things more precise. if i ever do it i will do all stainless on the hot and cold sides.
