Just wanting to get some opinions on which type of intake is producing the best results for all you magnacharger guys out there? The closed box style like the Volant or an open element filter? It's for my MP112.
I was looking at switching to a Procold intake I hear their nice. But I had the original volant tube sitting around and tried it and it works great. Yes the actual tube from volant is pricey. You can also modify the stock airbox which is what I would have done but I had the volant on my truck prior to the maggie.

There is a thread on modifying the stock box. Aklowrider runs a modified stock box and he's in the 12's with it. I think silverado11 has a Procold intake witch is supposed to be pretty damn good and also adds a nice clean look under the hood.

If going with the Volant, you may want to consider relocating the IAT sensor, I remember recently reading that the plastic of the Volant box gets heat soaked and heat soaks the MAF causing high IAT readings...can't remember if I read it in the GM Engine and Exhaust section or the Tuning section though...

I'm running the Airaid filter and tube. It might heat soak some at idle but gets plenty of cold air from around the headlight when I'm moving.
