you need to read a bit here before jumping into a purchase of a large item like this. Better? noway. Good, sure. Each has it's pros and cons. A few guys here run Vortech's.

The one thing I did not like about Vortech was that it was not self contained. You had to tap your oil pan for the blower. I'm not sure if your kit would be like that but I do know the '96 -'00 & '99 - '03 kits were like this. However, I believe the V-3 blower is self contained.

In all fairness, the Vortech does have a reservoir for the oil now....no need to tap the oil pan.

What makes you think it sounds better? I think it sounds like a bad alternator bearing at idle. With the new TVS systems available I do not think the performance from the Vortech would be any better, and certainly no the power delivery.

as most would say, before you go spending a good amount of cash.
what are you looking to get out of it?

are you looking for more hp and tq for towing, hauling.
are you looking to be the weekend worrior at the track.
or, will your needs be satisified with the push of a button giving you a 100 or 150 extra ponies every now and then.

you would be sruprised when you get to talk to someone about what their looking to get out of it, how a 500.00 nitrous system meets the needs more then a 4000.00 supercharger.

everything your asking for can be done by a push of a button.
you listed no need for extra power when you loaded your ride with a 1000 lbs of dead weight. or towing a trailor with 4 to 5000 lbs on it.
some things you do not have listed in your sig, is a camshaft, 3.73 or 4.10 gears, a stall, servos, and a 125 hp shot of nos can have you screaming holy **** for less then half the cost of a supercharger.

or you can spend 4 to 5 grand on a suppercharger, and another 2000 for the gears. camshaft, stall, servos, and a meth kit for later on.

hes right though... also before boosting any motor you need to have you fuel system in order and an AFR wideband to make sure your not running lean, and a live tune aswell.. i did not have luck supercharging with a mail-ordered tune... but after you get everything in place they give you consistant power. any questions ask

I purchased a complete V2 SQ setup for $1200 shipped to my door. Thing was in excellent condition. I got a tune for $300 and 75lb injectors for $400. I purchased a new Walbro in tank pump for $78. Should make around 12-13lbs of boost with the 2.87 pulley on a LQ4 6.0. Do not know what it will make for hp. I have a different cam and heads and throttle body and full length headers also. Was told it should make 725 maybe at crankshaft. Now planning to add meth to it.
