I have my boost gauge / bov / wg all connected together to a line coming from the intake manifold. Ive been running it this way for close to 10,000 miles and had zero issues. Rick @ trick performance also stated that it would be perfectly fine to do this.

both off manifold. had problems building boost on top end w/ wastegate reference at the turbo. motor wasn't seeing same pressure as the turbo. wastegate manufacture and Kyle(KBracing) both told me to move it.

Slowest turbo build ever!

Most wg manufactures won't recommend putting the signal to the manifold, they aren't meant to see vacuum (also a slower response, as atomic said).
On diaphragm style wastegates, the diaphragm may deform under vacuum (causing creases or pinched diaphragms).
On all wastegates, non have a valve stem seal, causing a vacuum leak (and possibly a little exhaust diluting the intake charge if your backpressure is too high).

So with the WG connected to the compressor outlet, it shouldnt see vacuum. Well maybe just a little while its lagging, or till it starts building boost.

I put a new diaphragm in my tial when I bought it, and am not too worried about the small amount of vaccum causing issues. The pressure it takes to open the diaphragm would be much more of an issue by that logic, at least for the tial design. I want my gate working off the pressure the engine is seeing, I dont give a **** whats going on at the turbo or cold pipes.
