Default Water injection - how to tell how much to spray

I'm using my alkycontrol kit to spray straight water now, just trying to use it for cooling at this point rather than octane boosting. How do I know how high to turn it up? With a 50/50 mix of water and meth I could keep my 1/4 mile end IAT's within about 5 degrees of starting IAT's. With straight water on the bigger motor they are still rising by about 25* between start and finish. After a run I took the filter off and felt up in the intake tube and it was a little damp inside, but there was no standing water. How much should I turn it up? I think I can crank it up more but I don't want to suck un-misted water into the TB. Not sure if I should be concerned with the inside of the intake tube being a little damp.

Yep, run it up until it bogs and then back it off a touch.
