Default Water routing on A/W intercooler

What would be the most effecient method to route the water flow on an A/W intercooler?

Res tank>pump>heat exchanger>intercooler>back to tank?

or

Res tank>pump>intercooler>heat exchnager>back to tank?

I have set up to were I can just switch hoses and ready to go.

I had it set up ---- tank>pump>intercooler>heat exchanger> back to tank
Then i swapped it.
I noticed that with heat-x then intercooler, iats would go down real fast after a pass.

With intercooler then heat-x it would take a little bit to come down.

Both of the test were just passes.

But have not done real world driving, so I thought I would Ask

After testing and confirming with the radix installs.
The A/W set up works best -- res. tank -> pump -> heat exchanger -> intercooler -> back to tank

The coolest the water can get in the entire loop is coming from the heat exchanger outlet. Sent that right to the intercooler. If it goes to a tank and pump first its going to get heat from the engine bay soaked up from those components.

Pumps get quite warm and even hot to the touch when everything heats up and gets to a steady-state while driving around in traffic. If anything, in some cases the water keeps the pump cool.

I have mine...

Res -> Pump -> Heat ex -> intercooler -> Res

I am considering a bypass hose (with a couple valves) to bypass the heat exchanger for track use and this is why....

If i were to dump a bunch of ice in my reservoir, the water cools down nice. But in the current loop the cold water from the reservoir passes by the heat exchanger which warms it back up considerably before going into the intercooler. With a bypass hose, i can route the water right past the heat exchanger while at the track and keep the water colder. Make sense?

First time at the track with the STS i had this great idea!
Put a large transmission cooler in a ice chest full of ice on top of the "heat exchanger"..
Stupid me left the Heat exchanger infront of the AC Condenser and it just heated up my cool water before it went to the ice chest..... Genius i tell you, Genius!!!

But mine is set up like this-

Res -> Pump -> Heat exchanger -> Heat exchanger in front of the previous "HE"-> intercooler -> Res

IATs stay about 2-3* above ambient when cruising and even after a few WOT runs it never gets over 40* above ambient.. Highest ive ever seen was 136*, Ambient was 95* and i was towing our 4wheeler trailer.

The horizontal one is my Trans Cooler, Vertical one is my Heat Exchanger and i have another one twice that size below it where the 2 'Vents' are in the bumper. (not installed in picture)

What pump are you using?
Is there enough flow?
