S80... I'm tellin ya
I'd be willing to say the turbo I have on my 347 would be a fast spooling street setup on a stroker. I'm running a Precision GT78H with .96 a/r exhaust side... If you're looking to spin it to 62-6300, that one wouldn't hurt you and would spool about as instantly as you could think of. Hell, its spooled by 3500RPM on my low compression, small cubed motor. Just food for thought....

Twins will still be more expensive. That's a good size turbo, but now you need 2 down pipes, 2 charge pipes, a 2 into 1 FMIC setup, 2 waste gates, etc. Basically twins are better for high psi because you can get better spool out of twins than a big monster thumper.
To start spooling early, you need to stay away from monster thumpers and huge turbine A/Rs.

05CREW:
when you say laggy.... what do you mean??? when would the 88 start to spool??
TurboBerserker :
what are you tlking about 1st setup and second setup??
as far as the "budget" i can get 2 turbonetics tc66 .81ar for $1000 from a friend so they could be in y budget.. is why i am asking about Twins??
also i want ATLEAST 700rwhp would relly want more around 850rwhp on 93 octain but i'm just being realistic so i didn't get bashed
i would like it to start spooling around 2500-3200 and pull to atleast 6000rpm

around 3500 or so...at the track the other night. it was running a shitty 60 2.2s lol but would endup an 8.3 on 7 psi...so i know that im done with the fuel setup and turn it up next week....
twins would be cool. but i thinks it just to much to look after...

I said keep it all along.
The two setups were hypothetical to illustrate my point -- the first is a huge compressor with a huge turbine housing. The second is a smaller compressor and a smaller turbine.

You see, this is a whole different ball of wax. What's you cam again? 220s? For 850 and a 408 with stock heads, you should be looking at a low-mid 230's cam on a 114 - 116lsa. You'll need 20ish psi (or some squeeze), maybe more with stock heads. For that, I'd look a bit bigger than that 78, but personally would not jump to an 88 because of where you want it to start spooling -- maybe something like a PTE76GTS or a GT80

as far as twins go "IF IT WOULD BE WORTH IT" i would have no problem doing that stuff.....
i haven't gotten a 100% cam for my setup yet i'm waiting to get a turbo to have it spec'd for me
i'm getting so many mixed answers.... what about a pt88 that has a .96ar???

only problem is the internet is the only place i can get info... there are no local shops or people here with knowledge (that i trust) and the only turbo car is a lingenfelter vette and the owner know nothing about...
