hptuners for around 6 years now.
is it bad that all I read at first was the "power inverter" and was going to freak out and and hope you didn't fry your cable???

So I am loving HP Tuners but find my self now feeling like I am cheating myself if I am not scanning while driving. Every time the truck does something weird or a shift wasn't as smooth as I wanted it I get all pissed cause I wasn't logging data when it did it.

True that man! I am so used to logging everything...if anything ever breaks, there will be a long nasty data trail telling exactly what happened

LOL exactly. I was laughing the other day cause I was going to post about a kill I had against a NNBS CCSB. I didn't have any pictures or video of the run but I had a data log of me screaming by him

the power inverter i use i have had for over 10 years. used it for car audio competitions. {pro audio eq's and such} have had zero issues out of it. my laptop has a shelf life of 3 mins. if that.

I just was warned by HP Tuners and a few other people to not use an inverter when you have the cable hooked up to your laptop while scanning or writing a tune. Something with the impedance or voltage or something could fry the cable or mess up when writing a tune. I am sure it's a somewhat rare or fluke cases for some people but I rather be safe than sorry. Plus my laptop usually can last 3 hrs or more on a full charge so that's not to bad. Have you looked into buying a new laptop battery for your laptop??

I have thought about using one to just charge the laptop while driving and the cable is unplugged since it sucks running out of battery on the laptop while data logging, just not sure I want to risk messing something up with the cable plugged in and using an inverter.

I think those only apply to power inverters you plug into the cig outlet. I have a 750w one hardwired to the battery that I use all the time.
