Default What size turbo for 427LSX???

Alright having a prob picking a turbo for my setup. I was really interested in a Precision GT47-88 with a T6 1.08 A/R but I keep reading on tech that the exhaust turbine is not optimal for 400+ ci engines. I run my truck 98% of the time on the street very very little at the track. I want quick spool but don't want to choke up top. Max rpm would be around 6500. Still undecided on heads prob the TF235s. No cam specs yet either. My truck is full weight with the 6 speed and 3.08 gears. You guys think I would need to run a 91 turbo? What's the best turbo you guys recommend for my setup?

I would run a 88 but with the 55 hot side. Garrett now offers a shelf piece like this or I think Jose might be able to build one for you. The single 92mm TW is small, we run two in a 438lsx and see some high BP numbers at 40psi.

I would call your turbo guy and talk to him about it, or call Jose at ForcedInductions.

The TFS 235 would be a good head choice on a heavy truck too.

promod 91. I run a 106 on that same size motor and it spools a lot quicker than I thought so a billet wheel 91 will damn near be instant and make sick power.

Not to hijack, but I'm building a 427 and have similar goals. My dilemma is I bought a BW S480 with the 83mm turbine, will this be to small?

91mm has just a little lag on a 408 so I would imagine it would do better on 427 cubes and still get you 1000hp. Who's kit are you going to run?

Kyle builds my turbo kits so gonna have him build me another. So pro mod Billet 91? What a/r because that's what sets the turbo for of it's gonna spool quick or gonna have better top end right? I want it to spool quick but still pull to my max redline of 6600. Also don't want to have issues with back pressure. Turbo is around $3500 so if I'm gonna get it I want it right the first time lol.

I run a 1.32 and did a lot of research on it. That was the standard for that size motor when I looked around. Mine is a cast wheel journal bearing so the promod being ball bearing and billet wheel will be a beast.
