Default What turbo lag?

Thought I would show you guys this.....this is cruising on the highway. T4 s400sx3 with 80mm cast wheel and the 81/87 turbine with the 1.25AR housing on a 402. Pretty hard pressed to find any lag in this setup

How does it do from a flat foot dig? That's the main thing that scares me away from turbos. I want to be able to jump on it from a dig and have all my power.

Definitely no lag there. I think too many people also misuse the term "lag". Sure it doesnt hit full boost right away but that doesnt mean its lagging.

That's not a trait of a turbo at all lol. Unless you brake stall it, its going to lag regardless of the engine/turbo combo. You need to just stick a big blower on that truck of yours

Most people call turbos laggy in reference to blowers. By blower standards he defnitely has lag, by turbo standards thats pretty low. When rolling down the highway most turbos have very little lag. From an idle most have quite a bit when compared to a blower.

I know but turbos just make freaky power without having to worry about belts and a expensive exhaust to let it all breathe. Theres some billet wheel, ball bearing units out there that I think could come pretty close to no lag, especially if I added about 40 cubes breathing into the turbine of it.

This time next year Ill be strapping some form of forced atmosphere onto my heavy pig. Everyone with a turbo truck just needs to let me drive it so I can make a better decision

What trait of the turbo helps to reduce your lag? Is it the big turbine wheel?
