Size the turbo right and the turbo will make full boost almost instantly. Just might run out of steam a little early. And even something a little big should atleast start making boost instantly, just might take longer to hit max. Think about some of the diesels for instance. Those turbos seem to hit max boost almost instantly.

And like you said, no crazy belt systems to worry about or fancy exhausts needed.

Have you driven a diesel? They're laggy as hell, from a flat foot on a 150 Efi tune my lbz wouldn't hit full boost til the far side of a 4 lane intersection. Sure it came out of vacuum quick but the powerband was like a slingshot. Wouldn't leave black marks for about 30' but after that on 35s it would start getting squirrely. I hated that powerband which is what I'm trying to get away from.

I suppose the lag debate is like what cam or converter is too big. I like my gratification instantly.

Come on Richard get us a video from a dig with no brake boosting.

I like a little more lag myself. The little 68mm turbine was ok and spool real quick on my 6.0 but its only good if I was 17 again and do rolling burnouts in front of the sonic to impress my friends... Ha ha ha. When I swapped to a 75mm turbine I loved it so much more. Still spooled quick and the power and spool in 1st was only a traction aid somewhat. And the power gain up top was crazy. Felt like 100 HP gain with a couple # LESS boost...

21.8 pounds of boost?! That's a kick huh? Never had mine over about 12-13. Pump gas and meth?

Here's my laggy pos. Lq4, py3400, Triple 12, T78/68, low boost, low timing Hot muggy night... It's way better in nice 60~70 deg weather..

That is not bad at all, I could live with that. I'd have to run a tighter converter but I could always add some cubes to help with that. That's probably the best video I've seen, all the dig videos you see are always brake boosting.

Were you running the Turbonetics Hurricane Benita 7868? How did you like it on the 6.0? I bought the Hurricane Vanessa 7668 turbo for my 6.0, I have a 216/220 cam and 4.10 gears but a stock 2200 4L80e stall, should still work good... for now lol
