Default Whats a good turbo for quick spool lower rpm operation in 5.3 p/u

I have a 05 crew cab 4x4 1500, It has a 5.3 and a ls1 6.0 cam in it. I'd like to find a turbo that wakes up around 2k and pulls into the low 5's. My buddy suggested a 60mm turbo, I'm only going to run around 6-8max psi. Truck has 4l60-e I do have trans go shift kit installed and updated corvette servo and aluminum acumulator pistons, I would like to run this trans as long as possible so I dont have to invest in another one. Truck see's about 2000 miles annually, Just a weekend driver, I had a mp90 sidemount pushing around 6 psi and that was great, just too noisy and i know a turbo would make same power with around 4psi due to charger taking up the power.

I'm not too familiar with turbo setups as for whats best. Just started reading on them. I have just heard a 60mm would be ideal for low shift out and quick spooling.

Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Find a twin scroll housing and buy/fabricate a "quick spool valve" / turbine diverter valve. Set it up to send all exhaust gas into one side of the exhaust housing until you have "X" pounds of boost. That will help get the turbo spooled up much quicker.

Or you could pick up a variable geometry turbo. Dual Aerocharger turbos were used pretty successfully on a G8GT that gets out of the hole like a **** (from what I have seen of the videos on youtube that is).

just put the biggest turbo you can find on that bish, you wont hook if you go small turbo anyway so it would be a waste of power ... thats my theory anyway lol.

A supercharger might be better suited for your goals.

Had one already, it was way too noisy. Just wanted to see what people would suggest for a smaller turbo on these trucks, I will have to find out exactly what my buddy had. it was a 60. not sure on the a/r. spooled quick. i'm not going to be asking for a ton of power just a bit more.
