Is that the timing you wanted and were commanding on the high/lo timing tabel? The only way to know whats wrong is to pull the head or use a scope to look inside. With that 7psi boost and 29* of advance is a lot of cylinder pressure and it broke the piston hence the knock you now have.

Why the TR65IX Iridium plugs and not just TR6s?
I just asked the parts guy for one heat range colder than stock and thats what he handed me

i was commanding 23-25. The afr was at 11.5 all the way through the boost but it was falling on its face at 4400rpms. I tried a few things and couldn't make it pull, my timing tables dropped off at that rpm so i bumped it up. It pulled better but my afr dropped to 10.5 for some reason, thats when i stopped and noticed the knock.

Yep #7 piston ring land is gone. What intake being used? As I understand even spot on tuning with truck intakes and #7 is prone to blowing with FI applications.

Is the stock truck intake a problem? Should i be looking into a different intake when i do a rebuild? What else do you guys think? I was thinking some good pistons, a mild cam, and some hardened pushrods. Or maybe just drop in a used 6L?

Like others have said, too much timming, though your boost was quite low.... Doesn't really matter much imo, number 7 is gone. Pull it and rebuild/replace...

The LQ4 pistons seam to hold up a bit better, but push them too far and you will be right back were you are now... look at my avatar, those are LQ4 ring lands...

Ky, u said #7 is prone to blowing w/ FI applications. Even w/ say a Radix @ stock boost level?

Also, which puts more pressure on that #7, a turbo or a Radix?

I think he was refering to stock manifold FI (ie, turbo, cent blower etc) Radix uses a different manifold and is a little better than the stock manifold when it comes to #7.
