Question Whipple with 43lb injectors

I am ready to ditch the whipple crap tronics and would like to get 43lb injectors. I have one question, do i need a new fuel pump with this upgrade? Or will the factory fuel pump be just fine. Thanks for all the help in advance guys.

It is not a direct replacement. You will have to modify your setup to make it work. Read this thread.

with respect to quicksilverado i will say that a pump is most likely a good idea. However, I am running 43lb'ers in my 8.1L with a 2.3L whipple and have not needed to add the pump yet, still running the stock pump. I am showing 55-58lbs at idle and have seen as much as 66-68psi at WOT. I have yet to experience any drop out of the stock pump yet. With my new pulley i know for a fact that i am over 400rwhp. My suggestion would be to do it without the pump first, then see if you actually need it. As Quicksilverado illuded to, the upgrade pump is not a direct replacement. I had actually bought the pump and dropped the tank and had everything out on the work bench when i realized it was not a direct replacement. At the time, i did not want to modify the basket in the tank, so i rolled the dice and put it back together to try it without the pump. Have had no problems yet. Maybe im lucky....but thats how its been for me. Here was my thread when i was dealing with the fuel pump issue....

good luck.

Linda, I would think that the fuel pump used for the 8.1 is capable of pushing more fuel than the pumps used for the small blocks.
