My reason is pretty simple. Few Maggie 5th gens, trucks, and SUVs have been on same dyno as mine was, Same tuner. Results weren't impressive for the Maggie's 2300s. Not knocking the Maggie at all, just not for me. I did have two at one point and got rid of them for that reason.
There was a 2300 Maggie cstv that did put down more power than mine. But they were spinning the hell out of it, meth and had a TR6060.

At the end if the day it's the track that is a measure of performance. It's all personal preference man. TimZ made 627hp, 615tq at 15psi on a stock 6.0 with a cam only with a 2nd gear dyno pull. So add another 25 or so hp to those numbers. This was with a TVS1900 at that.

I forget, what was your setup and what numbers did it make?

I'm following this thread for info because I hope this is my decision one day too. But, why the 2900? Don't you have to spin it faster to hit max efficiency when you could get better efficiency out of a smaller blower at lower RPM? Are track times your main goal? Just curious, that's all, I can't give an opinion otherwise, no experience.

Of course I want the best of both worlds - best track time @ lower boost and drivability. At this stage of the game, my wants for the blower are in this order...
1. Reliability
2. Drivability - most streetable
3. Performance / Most power potential for future upgrades and track times
4. Best customer service
5. Ease of installation
6. Price
If anyone has installed either the Maggie or Whipple who has before and after numbers to post, that would help a whole lot...either before and after track times and/or dyno numbers. Before and after numbers with a cam swap too.
Vote count update...
Maggie = 6
Whipple = 5

1 and 2 are pretty much a wash between them. 3, the Maggie wins the aftermarket development department as there are numerous businesses that make add ons such as 102mm inlets, phenolic spacers etc. 4 goes to magnacharger 7 days of the week, and I imagine 5 is a wash also. As for price, shop around I am not sure.

Yeah my little 1900 does work that's for sure lol.
But I believe if the OP is comfortable enough and has resources to mod either kit to the power level he desires than either way he should be happy . I don't believe with turbo or supercharger there is a one size fits all . We all end up tweaking our kits to get us where we want or close to where we want to be.
You can't go wrong with Eatons rotor pack for power and reliabitly , this is a fact as many stock GMs and fords use their cases in production vehicles . The whipples are just staring to show up on some hot cars now too .
It's up to you OP , buy one and end the debate !
I would like to hear a whipple at full whine
