03 Avalanches are electronic throttle as well. Not sure why he would have a cable TB on there unless it resolved a clearance issue with the blower or the firewall.

The 4in will work but you will see less boost on a 6.0 than with the same size pulley on a 5.3.

25004x4
Did mike at whipple say you need anything else for this kit to work? Are you planning to use the whipple tronics or are you going the same route as me and getting rid of all that stuff, bigger injectors and custom tune?
Did you happen to ask about belt size?
My pulley measures roughly 3 7/8's......not sure if this is considered a 4" or what. What size did the guys at whipple recomend. Ebay has a few pulleys but they are all 8 rib and mine is a 6 rib.
25004x4- we need to stay in contact with each other through this and hopefully learn off each other. When you planning on starting your install?

Thanks

The pulleys are (were?) sold in 1/8" increments, so 3-7/8" is an accurate size. It seems like my kit came with a 3-7/8" pulley, which made 5 psi on a stock 6.0. If mine was 3-7/8", then a 4" should make 4 psi boost on a stock 6.0. Mine might have been 3-5/8", and if it was, a 4" would only make 2 psi boost on a stock 6.0.

What's a safe amount of boost to run on a stock 6.0?

well, you are definitely not wasting any time gettin to yours, huh. LOL. I am hoping to start mine next weekend but who knows when I will actually get around to it. Have you been able to get in contact with Black Bear Performance yet? Let me know what you end up doing about the firewall clearance with the throttle body. I'm with you and not really wanting to beat up the firewall if I dont need to.

25004x4,
You can run your electronic throttle body without the elbow being a 3/4 ton you will have to plug in the throttle body first then bolt it up to the charger because you wont be able to plug it in if you dont. I did not have to cut or hammer on my firewall at all. on my truck being a 6.0 i got 7-8psi out of the blower with a 3 5/8 pulley. i had machinest make a 3 3/8 pulley for me and i put it on for a day and it was getting 9-10 psi i didnt leave it on just because i didnt have it tunned for the extra boost and was worried about going lean.
