Question Whipple SuperCharger Info Needed

Hi All

I just Purchased a used Black Finish Whipple Supercharger from another

Truck forum in the Buy & sell section...I received the Whipple Charger and

it's going in my 2002 Chevy Avalanche Z71 4x4 with the 5.3L along with a

set of .43lb injectors & Custom PCMFORLESS Tune...The Whipple I have is

Model-#-2300-AXO that is for 4.8L/ 5.3L/ 6.0L Motors...Anyhow what I'm

hopping is someone here can help me before I go ahead and install the

Supercharger,I'm wanting to freshen the looks up a little bit...I phoned

Whipple Industries in California and Talked to Rhonda & asked about Buying

a install kit and if they sell it separate--was told they do not + I asked if I

could buy some of the front Cover "Socket Head Bolts"--As well was told

NO, But to ship it all to them and they well Freshen it up along with checking

everything out for a good $$Buck..It would cost quite a bit to ship it all from

Canada to Whipple and then Back, After just paying a Mint in shipping + Duty

to get it here...Anyway there must be somewhere to buy the Bolts...They

are the Flush Mount type that looks stainless and have A "Socket style

head", if i have the wrong name let me know the right name for them,Allan

head socket are used to Torque them... 6 Socket Head Bolts are needed

for the Front Cover and are around 2 1/2" long, also 4 smaller "Socket Head

Bolts" are needed to install the main Compressor Pulley and are about 1"

long or if you know of a install kit so I can start with "NEW" Accessories or

any other parts that you may think I might be able to use making the charger

look good under the Hood.

I would really Appreciate if anyone can let me know on where to get these

Types of Bolts, plus anything else you might think i could use

Any pics? From what you're describing it sounds like they're counter sunk as well. Any good hardware store should have those bolts.

When you find them try and get grade 8 bolts if you can. They cost a liitle more but are much stronger.

Cool

Check with the marine yard as they might have them in stainless. You might be able to get them out of a marine hardware catalog. Always a bit of a run around trying to find specialty parts and hardware. Maybe a search on google will turn up something for you.

Just take one out and find an industrial supplies place where you live. They can either supply you or indentify what you need and send you in the right direction. If you
identify what you need and can't find them, pm me and I'll get em for you and send them,as long as you take me me for a blast in that truck when you are finished. I'm in Halifax.

Don't waste your time calling Whipple, they have the worst customer service ever as you well know now. You can order the bolts online pretty much anyplace. Try McMaster.com, they should have them online, fast service also. You really should get Stainless Steel if you can. If you want to know what threads they are just e-mail me and I'll pull one out and check for you.
