Does #7 have a lean issue? Maybe you could use a 44lb injector on 7 and 42s on the rest? I have no idea what I'm talking about

Just my .02, but I ran 5 lbs. of boost for about a week and then my truck started smoking the blue stuff. Needless to say I ended up pulling the motor and there was a huge chunk of piston missing and the rings were completely gone and laying in my oil pan. My block was scarred to hell and now it's ruined. My truck did have about 100,000 miles on it though.

your experiance is not uncommon. the trick is all in the tune. if you run it lean or too much timing just a few psi will kill the motor quickly. if you had broken pistons then it had to be detonating.

the number 7 piston gets more air because of the intake design than the others so it is the leanest and is often the first to go if things go wrong.

I don't think the 42 pounders will handle 12 psi. You'll need some 60 pounders.

my Stock 6.0 has been running for over 2 years boosted to 8-10 lbs. The first year and a half was non intercooled. After the intercooler install, the truck runs much better. If you are going for it make sure you get a good intercooler. As Parish said - its all in the tune. You should always have a scanner, boost gauge to see what is going on when you are going WOT.

Good Luck

My 5.3L has been running a Vortech supercharger since last September. I am pushing a 6000# Avalanche on a 4l60E and stock G80 with 3.73's. My bottom end is stock, but due to valve float, I went to a set of stage 2 heads with Patriot Golds and ferrea valves. I run a snow meth kit and no intercooler. My truck runs strong and I am seeing a pure 12 psi boost through the 2 BAR MAP sensor. (185 kPA).
Parrish is right.... it's all in the tune. I tune with HP Tuners and watch my AFR and timing religiously. The 5.3L will handle a lot... I am throwing 650 HP at the crank with no issues... the 60E is still holding up with a shift kit and servo's.. the G80 is still there as well.... This is my DD but I have been known to boil those goodyears down at will....BTW, my 42# injectors ran out at 8-10 psi... I had to move up to the 60# motorons...I am at about 68% on those...

Thats what I'm running minus the valve springs and i/c and my truck lives. I've got 120,000 miles on it. I am also installing a 50 shot of nitrous this weekend. I plan on putting some z06 springs on it soon. You should put a wideband on it. If you run 11.0 to 11.5 af and you keep your Kr at 0 you can run a lot of boost I had mine up to 15psi one weekend but my maf maxed out so I turned it down to 12psi.
