im using a digital gauge that came with the kit the instructions said the guage has to be on a ignition witched power source and the o2 sensor has to be on a switched power source?

Here is a link to the littlefuse "add a fuse". It makes life easy. You can hook up the LC-1 and the XD-16 to the same fuse. The LC-1 needs 5 amps and the digital gauge needs 2 amps. A 7.5 amp fuse would do nicely.

The red wire from both units should go to the fused power switched from the ignition. You can piggyback any of the fuses in the panel that are switched.
They like to keep the heater ground (blue), grounded separate from the system or signal ground (white) to keep the electronic noise to a minimum.
