Would you buy a vortech supercharger for an ecsb 4x4?

I think something like a S368 (i think thats the one) would be awesome for a low boost 5.3 setup like yours.
I'm looking to make around 450rwhp. I would love to make more but I'm just keeping it realistic. Of course it being a heavy 4x4 I want the most torque I can get. At the same time if I can make close to 450rwhp and have a pretty quick truck with a centrifugal supercharger or turbo and save about $2000 over going to a roots blower then I'm all game. I want a powerful dd but don't want to break the bank. So if not going to a roots blower is going to cost me 50-75 hp under the curve and a half second slower 1/4 mile time, but save me a few thousand doll hairs, I'm fine with that.
So if I could reach those goals with a turbo setup then I'm all ears too.

But for being charged that's kinda dissapointing another buddy of ours went 12s with less on a d1procharger
So he has a heavy avalanche into the high 12s-13s around sea level and good air. That's all that I'm after. Not really looking for a 11 second truck. Just want more power out of my dd.

Would a smaller turbo give me more low end torque than a vortech or procharger?
Looking for a 13 second DD with about 450hp. And eventually be lifted on 35s.
Trying to go FI and reach my goals for around $2-2500. Think it's possible?

$2500 would be a bare bones non-intercooled turbo setup. Wouldn't do it personally. That's not including injectors, fuel upgrades, tuning, etc.

You can't beat a supercharger for an install and go setup. If you really just want 450 rwhp and monster low end, I'd find a used Radix cheap and call it a day.

I already have a tune, and I can get a retune for free. No matter what FI I got with I'm going to need injectors and fuel upgrades, so there really is no point in bringing those up.

So does this seem like a good deal or should I continue to wait and hope to find a roots blower used for around $2k, because I really don't want to sink a whole lot more than that into this truck.

Well I tried to jump on the vortech bandwagon but no one is supporting that decision.

I need to see a dyno graph of a centi blower, roots, and turbo. On a bolton 5.3 to see what I want. Or find a roots blower for cheap.

Think I'm going to pick this up. I figure it's a hell of a lot more power than I'm making now and about as much as a cam swap would cost, or a 6.0.
Is it a good deal for a v1? Don't know the mileage but will find out.
