Default Z06 cam good for Turbo?

Going to finally be getting an engine for my build soon. Been thinking about the Z06 cam since they are inexpensive and readily available.
Going to do a 5.3l to a 5.7l build, 9-9.5-1 compression etc.
What do you think?

Except for my converter, mine drives like stock idles great and gets 21-22 mpg at cruise 70 with 4.10's and 20's.

I agree! A 02+ Z06 cam is probable the best budget cam you can do for a turbo motor. It will make a HUGE difference over a stock truck cam. And there CHEAP!

01, is not quite as good as a 02+ as it has .525 lift, where the 02+ have .550. But they still make good power. Parish has a 01 Z06 cam in there pinks car and are making 600rwhp on 15lbs of boost with a other wise stock 5.3.

I believe we have talked about this before, but YES. You won't believe how much difference it will make over the stock cam.

Oh, and it's the LS6 springs is what you would want . Like $60 at SDPC------->
