eco boost guys
Any of you out there? I figured the ecoboost would be a relatively hot topic however after months of occasionally lurking the Ford section I guess I'll have to start my own thread. I know there's gotta be a few owners on the site. Have you upgraded your truck at all? What's the aftermarket like for them? That torque curve must be fun!!!

YA, I believe a tune should get you quite a bit. OEM, leave a lot on the table with stock turbo tune. I've been looking at Chevy Cruzes for an econo box car and checking out some tuning on them since EFILive supports them. Found a guys whose done 6-7 of them and claims he can get an additional 50 or so HP and Torque out of them with just the tune, but you're only starting with a turbo 1.4L 138hp motor anyway!

Damn that's impressive what fastlane did with that truck. Bet would really rip in a ecsb configuration. I did a little lurking on some Ford forums, and I really didn't find much more info that what came up here in a couple days lol! One interesting fact I did find was that Ford claims the ecoboost is maxxed as far as reliability goes. I'de like to know just how conservative Fords tune is from the factory..

I've got one and it will run mid 14's bone stock. It's a 4x4 extend cab and weighs over 5000 lbs. The new superchips tuner claims that it make 54 more rwhp and like 60 ft/lbs. then stock. I think the reason this is possible is the direct injection not being so reliant in valve timing. That along with the boost and variable valve timing make for impressive power! I love mine! Can't say one bad thing about it...

Just picked one up myself and so far I love it. I didn't buy it for speed though more for the towing power. It doesn't feel any faster than my procharged avalanche honestly, a litttle slower at the top end. It does tow much better though (much of that is the rear suspension designs difference). So far (1000 miles) it uses much less gas than the Avy did though and thats a bonus.

I've driven one it was a 4x4 crew cab with a BD handheld tuner thats supposed to add 42hp and to be honest i was thinking it would have been faster. I guess all the hype on it had me excited about it, I'm not bashing them just thought it woulda been quicker.
