I have a stock 5.3. Is there any gain in HP or performance if I went with bigger injectors. Also thinking of installing e3 spark plugs and 8 gauge wires. Any thoughts or info on improving power with mods that can be done on a budget.

No gain from larger injectors, unless you are maxing out your current set. Also, probably little to no gain out of the e3 plugs and new wires. You need to get the air in or out more effectively to make any gains.

the air raid mit with stock airbox and k&n filter or just pick up a specture cold air intake i paid 120 for mine on sale. look into long tube headers i went with lpp stainless steel w/ y stainless y pipe for 450 shipped. alot of people run pacesetters too. run it into a magnaflow muffler. then tie it all together with a tune from nelson performance.

you will only gain so much power out of a CAI whether it be the best or worse brand. I would not run e3 spark plugs. I would stick with the GM iridiums or ngk tr5 I think might be tr55 somebody else will know for sure.
Start off with a CAI and muffler b/c you will not need a tune for these. Once you get the longtubes make sure you have the money for the tune or you will not see the true gains longtubes provide. I personally prefer a true dual 2.5" exhaust system with an x or h pipe to balance out the pressue of both tubes, since the driver tube is 2-3 more feet to travel than the passenger.
If you have efans great, if not get some.
You can Port and polish you stock throttle body. It's not hard just make sure you do it right, mainly don't take to much metal away and have it awkwardly shaped.
You can get a performance under drive pulley. Personally I had one and it did free power up quiet a bit, but this thing was a squeaking nightmare, and the only upgrade I regret doing. So I took it off and put the stock one back on.
That's about it for external bolt ons. A new intake manifold from FAST would add some top end hp and tq but not worth the $1500+ price tag that comes along with it. Instead You could put this money towards a cam and head kit.
Hope this essay helps lol

I wrapped my CAI tube in thermal wrap from homedepot and reflective tape. Helped my performance down here in Texas 100+ degree weather. Helps keep the air temps down, I couldn't touch my CAI tube before b/c it was to hot.
Now after a 2hr drive I can touch the thermal wrap and it is slightly warm so I think its working haha. If its cold out probably wont help much though.
