1987 Chevy truck TBI Upgrade
I have a 1987 chevy truck with TBI Injection. Currently doing a engine swap upgrading to a HT 383. I would like to know how and what to change to run the new EZ TBI from FAST. Many people have did the carb to aftermarket TBI, but no I have talked to has upgraded from a stock TBI to a better bigger one. If anyone out there has worked this out please let me know.

Wow that setup is pretty pricey! Why not upgrade the stock tbi to the holley 670cfm tbi unit with injectors from a 454 tbi unit, a. 4 bbl vortec manifold with a tbi to 4bbl adapter (or even the vortec tbi manifold), a t.p.i camaro fuel pump (direct swap and plenty of pump) and a custom chip. Much cheaper and easier. This was a common swap back in the tbi days

Swap your stock TBI for one from a 454 truck but use your stock injector pod(it'll bolt right up), Walbro 255, grind/drill the weld on the fuel pressure regulator screw and cut a slot it to make it adjustable, either get a single plane manifold and a bolt on adaptor for the TBI unit, or get one of the two TBI manifolds on the market either way it'll probably run about the same price. A good tune will help out that setup really well along with a good cam.

You would be money ahead by going to Moates and getting tuning soft/hardware for the factory ECM. Hell, even an EBL has self tuning for like 300 bucks. A BBC TBI (ported if necessary) should be more than enough for that 383.
If you have your mind made up to spend 3k on an EFI setup, might as well do it right and go MPFI.
