Dual external fuel pump questions.

Dual external fuel pump questions.
I am planning to add another external walbro 255 pump to my setup for the future upgrades i have planned. My current setup is fuel cell with 2 -8 ports. -8 feed line into an aeromotive FPR, -6 return. Soo i want to add another 255 and Y it into the existing -8 feed line. The pumps will be mounted to the read frame rail about 1.5-2 feet away from the cell. I will have a 100 micron filter before the pump and 40micron after. Now my questions
1. Do i put the check valve before the pumps??
2. Any harm in running both pumps full time? Meaning no hobbs switch. The walbro 255 is supposed to be very reilable so my only concern is circulating that much fuel while DDing.

You may have a problem with it being rich at low throttle inputs running two pumps. The return can only return so much and two 255s wide open is quite a bit of fuel. I remember reading about it on tech but can't recall the FPR they were using. You want to put the check valve as close to the pump as possible so it keeps the whole line primed. Personally, I just cycled the key then cranked it.

Or you can wire the 2nd pump to a manual switch to turn it on when you want to step on it and keep it off while cruising.
Personally I have two external Bosch 044 running all the time taking feed from 1.4gallon sump tank fed by intank Walbro. Both 044's are y-ed into fuel line to fuel rail with front FPR and single return to sump tank.
It's not the truck in my sig. It's good to fuel 700+ rwhp. It's little rich at idle but I don't DD it. And those 044 pumps are very noisy mounted to the chassis in the middle.

For a what its work I will give my setup. It was on a Colorado but the idea is the same.
I have 2 255s In tank y'd together going through the stock fuel line up to a $20 eBay fpr then using the factory return. Both pumps are on full time. With the reg backed all the way out it still makes like 38 psi fuel pressure. So with my crap setup I was never trying to move more fuel than the tiny return could relieve. I think you will be good on all the time
